Taxi Transportation

When you land in Nicaragua if you are not staying at an all inclusive that includes transportation or renting a car, you will need to get a taxi. The problem with hailing a taxi right outside the airport is that they have a monopoly on the area and often charge way more because they know they are your only option.

If you are flying into the Augusto Cesar Sandino International Airport you can email ahead to Senor Hierro at hierro1974@terra.com. He is a reliable and trustworthy gentleman who offers fair rates for transferring passengers to and from the airport in Managua. He is quite punctual and offers safe and speedy service. Best time to visit Nicaragua

The high season for tourists runs from December through May, and during these months rain is scarce. While the days are pretty much always sunny, strong winds are also common, which can, when not too strong, serve to cool you off while bathing in the sun. Personally, this Gringo enjoys Nicaragua much more during the rainy, green season, starting at the end of May and running to December. Sure, there is more rain, but the rainforest is vibrant; the whole country is new again. Not to mention the fact that the number of Read more

Recently the Bahia was purchased by the Cruz Pellas family, one of the richest in Nicaragua. Thank goodness they have left the beach open for public access!
